Tour Plan
Day 1: Kathmandu - A Glimpse of History and Culture
Upon your arrival at Gorakhpur Railway Station/Airport, we'll be there to greet you and commence our journey by heading to the revered Gorakhnath Temple, a 30-minute drive from the station. Gorakhpur district derives its name from the esteemed Guru Gorakhnath Ji, believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva according to the Puranas. After paying our respects at the temple, we'll proceed towards the Sonauli border, approximately 100 kilometers away. The journey offers glimpses of Tarai villages along a well-maintained road. At the border, we'll pause for necessary vehicle entry permits, a process that typically takes over an hour to complete. Once formalities are done, we'll continue our journey to Lumbini, the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha, before making our way to Kathmandu. En route, the landscape transforms into a mesmerizing panorama of mountainous terrain dotted with quaint villages and intersected by holy rivers originating from the peaks. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we'll retire for the night at our hotel, ready to embark on further explorations the next day.
Day 2: Kathmandu Local Sightseeing
Today, we embark on a journey through the enchanting Kathmandu Valley, exploring its revered landmarks. Our first stop is the iconic Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, revered as one of the most significant in the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site draws countless visitors seeking spiritual solace and cultural enrichment.
Adjacent to Pashupatinath Temple lies the mystical Guhyeshwari Temple, nestled along the tranquil banks of the Bagmati River. This revered site, known as a Shakti Peeth, exudes an aura of divine energy, captivating pilgrims and travelers alike.
Continuing our spiritual odyssey, we venture towards the sacred precinct of Jal Narayan Temple, also referred to as Budhanilkantha Temple. Here, amidst serene surroundings, devotees pay homage to Lord Vishnu, immersing themselves in prayers and contemplation.
Our journey culminates at the majestic Swayambhunath, affectionately known as the Monkey Temple, a revered Buddhist stupa and monastery. Perched atop a hilltop, it offers panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley, while its ancient charm and spiritual ambiance captivate every visitor.
As the day draws to a close, you are invited to explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu, adorned with colorful stalls and bustling markets, offering a delightful array of handicrafts and souvenirs. Rest assured, a comfortable overnight stay awaits you at our Kathmandu hotel, providing ample time for reflection and rejuvenation.
Day 3: Kathmandu - Manokamna - Gorakhpur 380KM
Today marks the final leg of our journey, as we prepare to embark early on a lengthy voyage spanning approximately 380 kilometers. Along our route, we'll make a significant stop at the revered Manakamana Devi Temple, also known as Manokamana, located 110 kilometers from Kathmandu. Perched atop a majestic mountain, this temple dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati, an incarnation of Devi Parvati, offers a spiritual haven to pilgrims. Accessible via an awe-inspiring cable car ride, the Manakamana cable car stands as one of the longest in Asia, adding an element of adventure to our pilgrimage.
Following our visit to the temple, we'll descend back down the mountain in the same cable car and continue our journey towards Gorakhpur, a distance of 270 kilometers from Manokamana. En route, we'll make a brief stop, approximately 20 minutes, at the border for necessary paperwork checks, ensuring a smooth transition. Our final destination will be Gorakhpur, where we'll bid you farewell near the station or airport, carrying with you cherished memories of our exploration through the heart of Nepal.
